“In Every Walk With Nature One Receives Far More Than She Seeks” J. Muir

It’s the last week of the month & May will just be another memory.J found a rhinosaurus beetle Friday & it’s a perfect addition to the collection.

I’m in love with the greenish-yellow horseflies with their brownish-red eyes & sheer wings.

I just love them all!! Hope you enjoyed a closer look at these beautiful insect gems.

Have a wonderful week,

-HH

The beautiful butterfly is the Arts & Crafts tile for March.

In 1958 Entomologist W.G. Bruce published a list of Arthropod references in the Bible. The most frequently named bugs from the Bible are: Locust: 24, Moth: 11, Grasshopper: 10, Scorpion: 10, Caterpillar: 9, and Bee: 4

Working outside has allowed me to get close with nature. The elements, sounds, smells, birds & insects!

I’ve seen two locust & never realized how big they are! It was exciting to see them so close up.

The other morning, I stepped outside and in the grass less than 3 feet away was a grasshopper “chirping” loudly.

It was more like a consistant high pitched vibrating frequency, that I could literally feel it under my feet!!

It finally relaxed & jumped off after about 5 seconds of trying to follow the noise to see it.

Check out the vibrant blue on this fly…

I call J the Insect Whisperer because moths and bees will land on his hand if he holds it out around one…so funny.

Stop by tomorrow because I will have some health & wellness information to share.

Hope you have a Bee-utiful day,

-HH
