Pier 1 ImportsĀ

[Absolutely love the yellow & blue glazed terra cotta vessels.]

Walked around one of my favorite stores the other day & picked out of a few great pieces that I thought would look great in my Nona’s place!

Hope our weekend weather will be nice for fishing.

I’m very much set on catching & cooking fish the way my dad makes it!!

Peace & blessings to all,

Motawi’s ‘November’ Arts & Crafts Tile

[This one is titled ‘Marsh’ & I love the cattails. I’ve lived near the Florida marsh my whole life.]

My father gave me a birthday card Monday night that read “Life begins at 30“.

It was such a great evening with just close family & my father really impressed us with his culinary skills. Homemade tarter sauce with freshly caught Red Fish & Croaker.

[Catch of the day!!]

High-tide dock fishing, here we come.

Have a blessed day,

Thirty Years Of Successful Trial & Error

[Love this photo of my Grandmother with my sister on the left & me on the right.]

Yesterday, on November 2nd, I turned Thirty & I feel like I’ve titled this post very accurately…Or maybe I just have a funny way of looking at things? I don’t know, I’ll let you decide.

It’s true that from the time we are born until the time we leave this place, we are being tested on a daily basis. As they say in the movie ‘The Recruit’, “Everything’s a test.”

They are referring to CIA training & being in the field, but it’s truly good mentality! Seriously, because then you become more aware of your own actions.

So we try our hardest at Life, sometimes we fail & sometimes we do a great job.

As long as we are trying, we’re in good shape.

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy & dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness & patience.” Colossians 3:12

Theory Of Aesthetics

Picked some random little blooms over the weekend on my walk & created this pretty little arrangement.

Vintage Specimen Drawer & Shells

Absolutely loving this…

Most of my shells were collected over the last year working with J on many construction sites.

Routing extension cords

Measuring & Cutting

Saws & Levels…

The “Special Lady” I am working with now (that I refered to the other day) is actually my cousin & she gave me this antique specimen drawer…That’s just what I’m calling it; could be called something else.

Haven’t permenently fixed anything yet & not sure how it will function.

Will share when it’s done & being displayed.

Peace & joy to all,

-HH

Pressing Red & Yellow Flowers

Found these two little blooming beauties the other day. They were leftover in shopping carts by the garden center at Wal-Mart. Their form is so aesthetic & perfect for pressing. I’ve got them in my heavy, old Jacksonville phone book right now. Wait & see!

Have a beautiful weekend…J & I are thinking about going to the Donald Trump Rally downtown tomorrow. Haven’t been to one of those since my Grandmother was campaigning many moons ago.

Peace & blessings to all,

“Trust & Obey; There’s No Other Way”

That’s one of my favorite quotes as far as being disciplined spiritually. Same with “Cleanliness is godliness”….It’s not actually in the Bible but it’s really excellent advice & a good mentality to have regardless.

[Rosie in her favorite environment]

My homemaking skills are about to start shining & I’m really excited about that. It’s what I’ve been waiting for…Patiently waiting on the Lord & putting my trust in Him; rather than try to make things happen on my own.

I’m beginning to really learn how to clean & not just get organized, but keep things in order as well. It’s true that creative people aren’t always, let’s say…the tidiest.

So, I started cleaning houses this week & I’ll be working closely with a very special lady that I’ve known for most of my life!

Regardless that my degree is in Interior Design, my cleaning skills are terrible & I think a lot of women can actually relate. Especially today.

Can’t wait to share all the cleaning tricks/tips I’m learning & applying to my own home. I have one that I will share very soon if you want your toilet bowl sparkly clean & white as snow.

Peace & blessings to all,

Dark Chocolate & Coconut Macaroon

[Some New Favorites:Kale Tortilla Chips & Chocolate Macaroon Granola Bars]

Macaroon’ & ‘macaron’ are two different things. Macarons are the pretty little French meringue cookies that have a sweet filling & come in a variety of pretty little colors. I still haven’t tried them!

These granola bars by Nature’s Path Organic are referring to macaroons, with two O’s. They are the drop cookies made with coconut & they look like little coconut mounds.

Texture & taste are excellent. Priced better than the KIND granola bars too, so thought I would share that with you today. Great breakfast on the go with some ice cold espresso.

Peace & blessings,

-HH

Purification & Order

[The Beginning Of A New Routine: I’ve been using Young Living’s Purification Oil & I can’t wait to buy a diffuser for our home!]

Change, like a refreshing breeze is moving through.

All I can really say for right now; Everything is up in the air still & I’m waiting for things to settle into place.

Really looking forward to what the future holds for us all.
